This collection of images from India & Nepal, concentrated most prominently on the Himalaya, was compiled by Tom Compagnoni from photographs he took over 8 months spent in the region between February 1998 and January 2000.
The pictures represent the rich tapestry of multi-ethnic societies, places and customs of worship and historic architecture and design that is to be found in and around the world's mightiest mountain range. From the icy summits of the worlds highest mountains to the sacred torrents of the holiest of rivers - the regions of North India and Nepal are filled with awe-inspiring testaments to nature and humanity.
The areas covered include, from Nepal - the Everest & Annapurna regions and The Kathmandu Valley, and from India - the regions of Ladakh, Rajasthan and the Gangetic Plain. Please take some time to fully appreciate the high resolution scans, all of which are accompanied by explanatory text.
